Course objectives
The aim of the subject is to acquaint students with the history and present state of transatlantic and European security and defence arrangements. Students are expected to read relevant documents and selected literature, as the course relies on their active involvement in the lessons. After completing the subject, students should be able to understand the historical context, institutions and strategic concepts of the transatlantic and European security problematic. Besides that, part of each lesson is to be devoted to current issues in the security and defence policy in Europe.
